IND vs ZIM: I Think You Should Only Play When You Are 110 Percent Healthy: Deepak Chahar

Fast bowler Deepak Chahar has been named to the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe and is eager to make his comeback for India. Chahar believes that you should only play when you are completely fit.

After getting hurt during Kolkata’s third T20I encounter against the West Indies, Deepak has been unavailable since February of this year.

The right-arm medium bowler was expected to make a comeback for Chennai Super Kings in the middle of the IPL 2022 after suffering a hamstring injury during the home series.

Chahar was picked by Chennai Super Kings for a staggering sum of 14 crores despite being injured, and it was anticipated that he would make a comeback in the T20 tournament’s later rounds. However, he suffered a back injury while receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, which kept him out for a long period.

‘I believe my bowling has improved’: Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar acknowledged that he was not at his peak fitness during the West Indies Series when talking about his return to the Indian team in an interview with News24Sports.

“Whenever I got hurt and then after that, I have always done well, I could have played a few weeks earlier and in the West Indies series as well, but I think you should only play when you are 110 percent healthy.”

“I think my bowling has improved, and I have been working hard on my batting skills as well. However, even if there was a 99 percent possibility, it would not be worth it for the team” Deepak Chahar Said.

With the T20 World Cup nearing, Chahar’s comeback will be encouraging for India. In white ball cricket, his capacity to swing the ball both ways while maintaining a constant line and length and his batting skills offer him an advantage over opponents. Last year, despite a top-order collapse, he led India in a successful run chase against Sri Lanka.
